Why RPCs are essential for egg supply chain resilience with John Spyker
In this video, we explore the key benefits of using Reusable Plastic Containers (RPCs) for transporting eggs. With product fragility and supply chain disruptions on the rise, RPCs offer a stronger, more reliable solution. They significantly reduce breakage, improve cooling efficiency, and enhance sustainability—delivering better outcomes for both suppliers and retailers.
Watch the video to see how switching to RPCs helps safeguard product, lower shrink, and build a more resilient egg supply chain.

Our egg RPCs; They’re washed after every use and sanitized. Um, we do a number of swabs. We’re checking to make sure they are clean, which is very important, not just from a food safety standpoint, but obviously from an avian influenza standpoint as well. There are some immediate benefits that you’ll get out of converting from corrugated to our RPC.
Obviously, tremendous cost savings when you reduce shrink. By 50%. Um, particularly now when the cost is around, you know, between seven and $8 a dozen for a lot of the retailers, um, that heads up very quickly. So you immediately have a good, positive financial impact. By eliminating that shrink, you’re also increasing the number of eggs that you have available to sell.
